This course focuses on the application of industry-standard software, concepts and principles in the field of digital visual art and animation. Students will acquire an array of strategies and methodologies to develop their creative skills, produce compelling visual content, and gain a deeper understanding of the artistic and technical aspects required for success in the digital art and animation industry.

Prerequisites:

Students must have the following to enroll in this course:

  • A recent model desktop or laptop (2019 or later) either Windows or Mac (no tablets/ipads)
    • Windows: 11 65-bit, 8GB of RAM, 4 GB of GPU memory OR
    • Mac: Multicore Intel or Apple Silicon processor (2 GHz or faster processor with SSE 4.2 or later) with 64bit support, MacOS Big Sur (version 11.0) or later, 8 GB of RAM, GPU with Metal Support and 1.5 GB of GPU memory.
  • A reliable, secure internet connection sufficient for Zoom meetings and a quiet place to conduct meeting.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Be comfortable using a computer, navigating the operating system, managing files and folders, use software applications, and connect to the Internet using various methods such as Wi-Fi.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Course Dates: July 1 – August 9, 2024

Location: Completely online. Live online sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00pm
