This 6-week course provides a comprehensive introduction to sustainability, renewable energy, and climate resilience, with a special focus on the unique challenges and opportunities the island of Oʻahu faces. Students will explore foundational concepts of sustainability, focusing on environmental, economic, and social dimensions. Through systems thinking, students will gain an understanding of how natural and human systems are interconnected and how these insights can be applied to solve complex environmental problems.

Eligibility criteria:

  • 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State of Hawaiʻi resident and current resident of Oʻahu
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident or COFA status
  • Confirm COVID household impact on Good Jobs Hawaiʻi application
