Cultural-based Leadership Development

“The root construct underlying all positive forms of leadership and leadership development is authentic leadership.”
Authentic leadership begins with an awareness of our own values and cultural norms. Using the awareness as a foundation of your professional practice enables greater authenticity, empowerment, personal and professional satisfaction, and the ability to support these outcomes in those you lead. This 3-day Leadership Development Training builds a bridge between one’s own cultural sustaining practices and professional leadership development.

Increase awareness of your own cultural values and norms and the culture of your organization and apply directly to leadership and management practices such as time management, resource management, interpersonal communications, developing your own leadership philosophy, strategic planning, employee relations, technology use, and community partnerships.
Elements of Dr. Mary Hattori’s Chamoru culture form the foundation of a culturally sustaining leadership within the context of American Institutions. Participants will apply principles from their own culture and explore leadership models congruent with their culture and learn ways to mobilize their own cultural identity to achieve success and inspire others to do the same.
