Kapi‘olani Community College, Office of Continuing Education and Training has partnered with Badgr to offer digital badges to students to better their digital professional image and bulkup their digital resume.

Our job training classes are available for a range of skills and jobs in Business, Healthcare, Technology, Japanese for Retail and more. All participants who successfully complete the course will receive a digital badge that they can add to their e-resume or post to their social media accounts such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.

Organizations around the world use Badgr to create branded learning ecosystems that support their communities with skills-based digital credentials, stackable learning pathways, and portable learner records.

What is a digital badge?

A digital badge is an electronic certificate and similar to printed certificates that serve the same purpose, providing proof of the completion of a course or program. The additional benefits of a digital badge are that within the badge include information such as a description about the program, the criteria to earn the badge, the learning outcomes of the course or program, and the opportunity to include work by the receiver of the badge. By providing this additional information, when presented to an employer, gives the employer detailed information of the knowledge or skills learned.

Is the digital badge free to access?

Yes, all you will need is to create an account with Badgr. To create an account, all you will be asked to include is your name and an email address.

What can I do with the digital badge?

You can post your digital badge to your Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Twitter account. In addition, if you have an e-resume, an e-portfolio or a personal website, you can link your digital badge there. Although digital, you do also have the option to download or print the badge as a certificate.
